SANGUEM: Curchorem Fire Station cleared huge trees which were uprooted and had fallen on the roads. 13 emergency calls were registered in Curchorem fire station on Sunday.
Due to the heavy rainfall which Quepem and Sanguem taluka witnessed for the last one week, 13 emergency calls were reported at the Curchorem fire station in the last three days due to heavy rainfall.
As per the information given by the Curchorem fire station in charge, Station Officer Damodar Zambaulikar’s total of 13 emergency calls was registered in the Curchorem fire station, and the maximum calls were related to the trees uprooting and falling on the roads.
On 25th June, there were a total of five calls, three calls from Quepem constituency jurisdiction that is one from Avadem and two calls from Corttombi in the same Academy panchayat area. The loss incurred was around 10,000 rupees.
On 26 th June, around seven calls were registered in the area of Sanguem , Sanvordem and Curchorem constituency, but no major damage or losses were incurred. Most of the cases were about trees falling on the roads.
On 27 June 1 call was registered that is from Kalay Sanvordem that a tree fell on the road which was attended.
Further, he said that 13 calls were registered in the Curchorem fire station, and all has been completed, said Zambaulikar.
