PANAJI: In order to give patients in distant locations faster access to medical care, Goa’s Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has suggested establishing a helicopter ambulance service. The service would make it possible for patients to be transported to the Goa Medical College quickly, greatly cutting down on travel time and guaranteeing prompt treatment in urgent situations. In order to prioritise healthcare in the area, Rane underlined the necessity of having a helicopter specifically for medical crises as opposed to depending on helicopter tourists. The program is a component of the state’s larger endeavours to improve access to healthcare, particularly in places that are challenging to get to by automobile. Given Goa’s geographic location, the use of helicopter ambulances will help connect remote areas with healthcare facilities, especially during crises when every second matters.
It is anticipated that this idea will strengthen the state’s overall healthcare system and guarantee that urgent patients, wherever they may be, receive timely medical care. It supports the state’s mission to improve healthcare services for its citizens by making them more effective and easily accessible. Goa’s healthcare system will advance significantly with the introduction of the helicopter ambulance service. “This is very practical to move forward with this plan because we are a small state,” Rane remarked.
