PANAJI: Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral has said that as per the Wind Resource Assessment study conducted by GEDA in collaboration with Natural Infrastructure of Wind Energy, Chennai, the high capacity wind turbine is not feasible in Goa.
“GEDA conducted wind Resource Assessment study in collaboration with Natural Infrastructure of Wind Energy, Chennai. As per the study, potential for a high capacity wind turbine is not feasible in the State,” said Cabral
He further said that Government had notified Goa State Solar Power Policy for promoting Solar Energy in the State. Solar Rooftop Power Plants on various Government Buildings aggregating capacity of 1.5 MW have been installed. State disbursed an amount of Rs. 1.44 cr. for installing Solar Rooftop power plant on domestic and commercial for a total capacity of 755 KW.
Minister also informed that the state government had signed MoU on 17/11/2020 with CESL for generating 100 MW Solar Power in the State on Govt. land, and the same will be completed within 12 months from the date of signing the MoU.
