CANACONA: Shri Mallikarjuna of Dhyan Prabodhini Mandal and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College in collaboration with its Alumni Association and Parent Teacher Association, Angle High School, Mashe, made its mark in the high school level competitions of the ‘Sangam’ art festival organized for the second time.
Different types of competitions were organized in the ‘Sangam’ festival. These included street drama, folk dance, patriotic song singing, rangoli, fashion fusion and sports competitions like fitness run, badminton.
In the rangoli competition, Nitisha Redkar and Vaishnavi Pagi of Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School won the first prize, Esha Dhuri and Khushi Pagi of Sri Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School got the second prize and Somnath Desai and Diyesh Gaonkar of Balram Higher Secondary School got the third prize. In the Indian traditional group dance competition, Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School came first, Sri Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School came second and Balaram Higher Secondary School came third.
In the street drama competition, Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School bagged the first prize, Sri Mallikarjuna Higher Secondary School bagged the second prize and Balaram Higher Secondary School bagged the third prize. In the patriotic singing competition, Satyawati Soiru Higher Secondary School came first, while Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Sri Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School came second and third, respectively.
In the fashion fusion competition, Sri Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School won the first prize, Satyawati Soiru Higher Secondary School won the second prize and Balaram Higher Secondary School won the third prize. A running race was also held at this time.
Among girls, Sitija Velip of Government Higher Secondary School won first place, Ritu Chavan of Balram Higher Secondary School got second place and Mrinali Bhandari of Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School got third place.
In Boys category, Sachin Gaonkar of Balaram Higher Secondary School got first, Yash Velip third and Sushant Gaonkar of Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School got second. Higher Secondary School came first, Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School came second and Government Higher Secondary School came third. Florida Barreto, Velini Rebelo of Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School bagged the first and second positions, respectively while Sarita Sarang of Government Higher Secondary School bagged the third position in the Badminton competition in the girls category.
Piyush Devidas of Satyavati Soiru Higher Secondary School got the first position, Corian Syed got the third position and Daksh Pagi of Government Higher Secondary School got the second position in boys category.
After the conclusion of the event, the winning teams were felicitated with trophies, Certificates and cash prizes. On this occasion the President of Dhyan Prabodhini Mandal Chetan Desai and the Principal of the college Dr. Sucheta Naik congratulated the contestants. On this occasion, the prizes of Kalasrijan 2024 organized for the students of the college were also given by the dignitaries. Dhyan Prabodhini Mandal Vice President K. B. Gaonkar, President of Parent Teacher Association -Swaroopa Desai, President of Alumni Association – Pankaj Naik Desai, Sangam Coordinator Dr. Purnanand Chari, Student Secretary Vishal Velip, Cultural Committee Secretary Rohit Desai were present on the platform.
