PONDA: ‘Though there is talk of ‘Gyanvapi’ in Kashi, this is not a single issue, but there are many such temples at the national level. Many magnificent Hindu temples were also destroyed in Goa during the reigns of Portuguese, Bahamani and Adilshah invaders. The temple of Saptakoteshwar was rebuilt by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj himself. The same action needs to be taken about the destroyed temples in Goa. Keeping this idea of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in mind, the 10th ‘Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Rashtra Adhiveshan’ to be held at ‘Ramnath Devasthan’, Ponda from 12th to 18th June 2022 will discuss such destroyed temples across the country including Goa. In this Adhiveshan, all devout Hindu organisations will take decisions regarding the restoration of temples demolished by the Portuguese”‘, stated Sadguru (Dr.) Charudatta Pingale, National Guide of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
He was speaking at a press conference held at Ponda, Goa. Adv. Shailendra Naik, President of Ponda Bar Council, Dr. Uday Deshmukh of ‘Samarth Bharat’ and Goa State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) Mr. Satyavijay Naik were present in the press conference.
On the occasion, Goa State Coordinator of HJS Mr. Satyavijay Naik said, “The laudable decision to renovate the Hindu temples demolished during the Portuguese period was taken by the Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant. This issue needs to be expanded. Trustees of various temples, devotees, experts, advocates and devout Hindus will come together to brainstorm about the temples. A session has been organised on 13th June on topics’ The protection of temples’ and ‘Good governance of a temple’. ‘Hindu Rashtra Sansad’ (Hindu Rashtra Parliament) on the same subject has been organised in the evening in which everybody can participate to discuss issues on temples. After this discussion, a unanimous resolution about restoration of temples will be passed”.
The Adhiveshan will be attended by devout Hindus such as M/S Subhash Welingkar, Prashant Walke, Hanumant Parab, Kamlesh Bandekar, Ankit Salgaonkar, Nitin Phaldesai, Bhai Pandit, etc. and other office bearers of various Hindu organisations. Although not everyone would be able to participate directly in the Adhiveshan, the Adhiveshan will be aired live on the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s website ‘HinduJagruti.org’, as well as on the ‘HinduJagruti’ YouTube channel. An appeal was also made at this time that all Hindus should take advantage of it.
