COLVA: Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident reported near Bharat Petrol Pump, Benaulim, around 4.10 am on August 31, 2025.
According to a complaint filed by Kakul Kumar of Carmona (native of Uttar Pradesh), an unidentified car rammed into his scooter, leaving him and two pillion riders — Raj Veer of Carmona (native of Uttarakhand) and Harikishan Maithani of Varca (native of Uttarakhand) — grievously injured. The car driver fled the scene without rendering help or alerting authorities.
All three were rushed to GMC Bambolim, where Raj Veer succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police conducted an inquest and autopsy, after which the body was handed over to relatives for final rites.
Further investigation is being led by LPSI Raksha Naik of Colva Police Station.
