PONDA: The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) called for tougher legislation to prevent crimes against women and girls in their youth.
Following speakers who emphasized that women’s safety has grown to be a major national concern, Sumedha Naik gave an explanation of the demonstration’s goal.
A ‘Love Jihad Prevention Act’ was demanded by the Samiti in Goa. According to the report, from 2019 to 2023, there was a rise in crimes committed in Goa against juvenile females. The demonstration brought attention to the necessity for more severe penalties, such as rapists’ dismemberment, emasculation, or public execution.
In addition, the Samiti emphasized the value of teaching boys and girls self-defense techniques and demanded tighter regulation of pornographic movies and web series on over-the-top (OTT) platforms.
