New Delhi: The Indian women’s hockey team delivered a dominating performance against Singapore, cruising to a 12-0 win in their Pool B match at the Asia Cup.
Navneet Kaur and Mumtaz Khan starred with hat-tricks, while Neha added a brace. Other scorers included Lalremsiami, Sharmila Devi, and Rutuja Pisal, as India maintained their attacking momentum. Goals came in quick succession: Mumtaz (2’, 32’, 38’), Navneet (14’, 18’, 28’), Neha (11’, 38’), Lalremsiami (13’), Sharmila (45’), and Rutuja (52’).
This follows India’s emphatic 11-0 victory over Thailand in their opening match and a 2-2 draw against defending champions Japan last week. Ranked 10th in the world, India faced Singapore, who are placed 34th, with clear dominance.
The Asia Cup features eight teams, with the top two from each pool advancing to the Super 4s. The finalists, scheduled for September 14, will battle for the title, with the winners securing a spot at the 2026 Women’s World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
