PANAJI: Residents of Hollant on Friday requested the authorities to clear the trees that had been uprooted due to cyclone and also appealed authorities to clear storm drains as the area was facing constant flooding and also that water was entering into the houses causing a lot of inconvenience
When contacted panch Nandita Dayal said that the trees and electricity poles had fallen off during the cyclone Tauktae and the pamch member with the help of authorities including Navy had cleared the trees off the roads so that villagers could move out in Case of emergency.
Dayal, however, said that the trees cannot be taken away as they belonged landlords and not the panchayat.
Dayal also said that works on storm drains will commence soon
