PANAJI: Holy Cross boys of St. Cruz had organised a 6-a-side Volleyball Tournament at King Edward Park, Wembley (UK).
A total of eight teams participated. Santa Cruz boys defected Our Lady of Rosary boys 27-25, 21-25, 25-23. The winners were awarded a cash prize of 1000 pounds with a trophy, and the runners took away 600 pounds & trophy. Individuals prizes were awarded to The Best lifter of the tournament, Philip (O. L. of Rosary boys), Best defender of the tournament Velanko (Holy cross boys), Best smasher of the tournament Aswin (Holy Cross boys) & Surya (O. L. of Rosary boys)
The Chief Guest of the day was Joe V. Braganza, Guest of Honour Tony Gonsalves, and Polly de Curtorim (One man band). Entertained the crowd. The tournament was well organised by Aswin, Kelly, Presley & Soccoro.
