New Delhi:
In a heartfelt tribute, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding India’s border areas. Shah’s praise came on Friday night, highlighting the ITBP’s crucial role in protecting the nation’s borders despite the challenging terrains and climates.
Shah emphasized the ITBP’s significant contribution through the ‘Vibrant Village Program’, an initiative introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enhance the living conditions of people in border villages. This program aims to provide the best facilities to these communities, ensuring their population is not only sustained but also increased. The Home Minister noted that the ITBP is instrumental in speeding up development work in these border areas, a testament to their multifaceted role.
The ITBP could potentially be designated as the nodal agency for developmental work in border villages, a move that would further integrate their security and developmental responsibilities. This dual role would not only reinforce border security but also foster economic growth and social stability in these regions.
Earlier on Friday, BJP MP from Uttarakhand’s Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency, Anil Baluni, spent a day with ITBP personnel, praising their commitment and dedication. Baluni referred to these soldiers as ‘Himveers’ (snow bravehearts), acknowledging their selfless service in the most challenging climates. His visit underscored the nation’s pride in its security personnel and the enduring spirit of patriotism that drives them.
