New Delhi: The homes of two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists allegedly involved in the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives were destroyed in separate blasts in Jammu and Kashmir late Thursday night, officials confirmed.
The two terrorists, identified as Adil Hussain Thoker from Anantnag and Asif Sheikh from Pulwama, were reportedly key operatives in the brutal assault carried out in Pahalgam’s Baisaran area on Tuesday. The attack left 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national dead, marking one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in Kashmir in recent years.
Sources revealed that explosives were planted inside their houses, leading to the destruction. Authorities suspect the act was a targeted measure following mounting evidence of their direct involvement in the attack.
The Anantnag Police had earlier released sketches of Thoker and two other suspects believed to be behind the massacre. According to officials, the remaining two suspects are Pakistani nationals: Hashim Musa alias Suleman and Ali Bhai alias Talha Bhai, both believed to be affiliated with the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba. A cash reward of ₹20 lakh has been announced for information leading to their capture.
The attack occurred in Baisaran, a picturesque tourist destination often referred to as “mini Switzerland” for its lush meadows, pine forests, and Himalayan vistas. The brutal nature of the strike has sent shockwaves across the nation.
The investigation continues as security agencies pursue remaining suspects, and nationwide security has been heightened in the wake of the attack.
