PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant called upon the youths to venture into the hospitality sector and make their career as it has a very better opportunity to grow as an individual in different fields across the Globe. He said, 80% of the employees in this sector are outsiders.
Sawant was speaking after inaugurating a Seminar on Vocational Guidance in Hospitality Services organized by the Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali on Sunday.
On the occasion present were Gopal Surlakar, ZP Member; Vincent Ramose, Sr.Vice President, Indian Hotels Company Limited; Manoj Patil and others.
To boost up the talents of students from rural areas, such types of seminars play a vital role, he said and added that more such seminars will be organized in various parts of the State.
Underscoring the importance of the mining sector in the State, Chief Minister said the hospitality sector has wide career openings in Goa after mining. Chief Minister underlined the importance of this sector to make a bright career in this sector and informed about the various opportunities that exist in the State.
Chief Minister pointed out that sincerity and loyalty play an important part when one selects a profession like hospitality.
