CANACONA: The decade-long awaited repair and Hot-Mixing of the Nagarcem -Chapoli Road began on Monday.
The hot mixing machine was inaugurated by a businessman and senior citizen of the Nagarcem area Nilkanth Naikgaunkar in the presence of Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar and others.
The Nagarcem -Chapoli Road, dug up repeatedly from NH-66 opposite KRC Station f road at Nagarcem, is taken up for Hot-Mixing at an estimated cost o ₹1Cr 1.5 lakhs.
Ward councillor HemantKumar Naik Gaonkar who has been spearheading the Hot-Mixing works on an urgent basis for the last couple of years, expressed satisfaction that finally, not only the people of Nagarcem but as the road up to the village of Chapoli will be Hot-Mixed everyone would be primarily benefitted.
‘ the Chapoli was in terrible shape, and Chapoli villagers and Nagarcem residents, including the visitors to the Chapoli dam, had borne all the nuisance for the last several years. It will be a one-time thing now’, Naikgaunkar said.

Chairperson Kishor Shet, PWD officials, and locals were present.
