Pernem: Pernem police have registered an offence in connection with a house break-in and theft reported from Murmusem, Tuem, in Pernem taluka.
According to police, the offence was registered on January 21, 2026, at around 7.36 pm, based on a complaint filed by Sarvesh Morje (33), a resident of H. No. 861, Murmusem, Tuem, Pernem.
The complainant stated that between 9.45 am and 6 pm on June 18, 2025, unknown accused persons gained entry into his house by breaking open the bathroom window and bathroom door. The accused allegedly committed theft of an HP Victus laptop worth Rs 79,000, a pair of gold ear stud earrings valued at Rs 16,400, and cash amounting to Rs 35,000 from a cupboard in the bedroom.
During the course of investigation, Pernem police identified two accused persons — Rohan Mahadev Padwal, resident of H. No. 545, Varpewada, Pernem, Goa, and Jagannath Sanjay Bagkar, resident of H. No. 63/5, Ramnagar, Colvale, Bardez, Goa.
Both accused have been arrested and are presently lodged at Pernem Police Station in connection with Crime No. 81/2024 and Crime No. 75/2025. Further investigation is in progress.
