Pernem: A case of house break-in and theft has been registered at Pernem Police Station following a complaint by Vinayak Kashinath Mahale, a 75-year-old resident of Sao Pedro, Old Goa. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between July 1 and August 2, 2025, at the complainant’s second house located at H. No. 68, Temwada, Ugvem, Pernem.
According to the complaint, an unknown person forcibly entered the house by breaking the main door lock. The intruder then broke open a cupboard locker and stole a blue-coloured Indian Overseas Bank pouch containing approximately ₹10,000 in cash, a Goa Urban Co-Operative Bank passbook (No. 7502), and a small golden-coloured Ganesh décor item.
The case was registered on August 2, 2025, at 6:10 PM. Pernem Police have launched an investigation into the matter under the supervision of PSI Sahil Naik. Authorities are working to identify the accused and recover the stolen items.
