Cuncolim: Cuncolim Police have registered a case against a Chinchinim resident for allegedly conducting a gambling activity, popularly known as “Housie”, during a public stage show without obtaining prior permission from the authorities.
According to a complaint filed by PSI Suhas Velip, the incident took place between 7:00 pm and 10:30 pm on May 2 at the Chinchinim Panchayat Playground. The accused allegedly organised the gambling event in a public space, offering prizes amounting to Rs 10 lakh to participants.
The case has been registered under Section 11(2)(a) of the Public Gambling Act. Further investigation is currently underway, police said.
