CANACONA: Hundreds of devotees took Darshan of Shri Mallikarjuna Dev at the Sea-Shore of Rajbagh on Thursday.
The Shri Mallikarjun Deity mounted on a decorartive palanquin began its journey from the Shristhal temple on the traditional route early Thursday morning. On the way towards the Sea, the Palaquin had about 8 halts, before it reached at Devavela, the seashore at Rajbagh, where the idol of Shri was bathed in the sea.
On this occasion, the devotees offered bananas to the sea God. After the Lord’s bath, the devotees also took a bath in the sea with great devotion and traditional fervour. After that, the devotees took the Darshan of the Lord.
The fair, which lasted for about two hours, featured all kinds of goods. It included sweets like khaje, laddu, chana, as well as household items, traditional Shigmo drums, braids, tips, and other items. After all the devotees had taken the darshan, the palanquin of Shri mallikarjun Temple returned back to the Shristhal temple.
