PONDA: Daily, hundreds of citizens, rush to file applications at Dindayal Kiosk located outside the Ponda Mamlatdar office, hoping they will get Rs 5000 under Covid 19 relief fund.
A huge rush is seen for getting application forms and submissions.
It may be recalled that the government had declared a scheme to covid 19 communities affected flower vendors, pilot, fruit vendors to marginalised / unorganised sector.
The scheme is implemented through the Director of Social Welfare through the concerned Secretary of Village Panchayat, or Chief Officer, Municipality and Commissioner of CCP.
Under this, people engaged and affected in 47 various traditional businesses can apply for ex – gratia one-time financial assistance under the scheme Covid 19 relief to Marginalised / Unorganised sector.
This includes flower vendors, motorcycle pilots, auto-rickshaw pilots, bus drivers, Taxi drivers, bakers, musicians, theatre artists, coconut harvesters, masons, etc.
To submit teh forms, each applicant incurs Rs 200 to 250, including notary, stamp paper, affidavit and typing application.
One Sarpanch, on condition of anonymity, said he had sent hundreds of applications to social welfare. Even four members of the family had filed such applications.
One Advocate who is a notary said he daily records several applications.
When asked Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavlikar about hundreds of applicants rush to file these applications, he said that clearing all applications would require government Rs 150 crore.
He said he already government struggling to clear the pending money of ongoing schemes like Laadli Laxmi, Gruha Adhar, senior citizens schemes.
He said Ladli Laxmi scheme money has been pending since 2019, and the government should first clear the money of all these ongoing schemes which is pending.
He doesn’t think the government would be able to earn the money of Covid 19 relief schemes.
