CANACONA: Likewise taking strong objections to the alleged religious hurting sentiments by a well known margao based businessman, where a few other police complaints are registered elsewhere in the State, Canacona police also booked Datta Nayak for hurting religious sentiments following a complaint by a senior member of Hindu Sanghatna.
Satish Bhat, resident of Poinguinim, a senior member of Hindu Sanghatna accused Datta Nayak, resident of Margao for deliberately using indecent wordings while giving an interview on TV channel.
Bhat in his complaint to police quoting Nayak’s interview to a TV channel states “I do not donate money to God, Temples or Religion. Temples are there to loot money. Priest, Partagal math, temples would have looted me”, which Bhat alleged as the indecent wordings used are against the temples, Partagal Math, as well as Hindu Priest, thereby hurting the religious sentiments, creating disharmony in the society and outrage religious feelings of Hindu religion and religious belief.
