PORVORIM: Tense situation was witnessed on Thursday night after a group of Hyderabad tourists travelling in a four-wheeler and allegedly driving rash and negligent manner met with two accidents at Vagator and Canca and attempted to escape from the spot.
They were chased by locals and subsequently apprehended at Porvorim
According to information received, a group of tourists from Hyderabad travelling by car caused two accidents at Vagator and Canca due to reckless driving.
Meanwhile, after the accident, the tourists tried to run away from the spot. After that, the locals started chasing them.
The first accident happened at Vagator, after which the tourists fled, but the locals chased them. Meanwhile, his vehicle met with another accident at Canka. And tourists spread from here too.
After these, tourists from Hyderabad came to the main road at Giri from Parra Road and entered Porvorim. The tourists took shelter in a bungalow on the hill. Meanwhile, around fifty local people, who were chasing them, gathered near the bungalow.
Finally, these tourists from Hyderabad were arrested with the help of the police (Goa Police). The police sent him for a medical examination.
Locals have filed a hit-and-run case against these tourists and demanded strict action.
Also, compensation for the damages caused due to the accident has been demanded.
