MAPUSA: In a continued enforcement drive under its zero tolerance policy against drug trafficking, the Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) Police Station has registered Crime No. 07/2026 under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the NDPS Act, 1985 on February 21, 2026.
According to police, on February 21 between 3.15 pm and 5.30 pm, the ANC team conducted a raid at the parking area of Mapusa Yard (back gate side) and apprehended Anirudh Ashok Bhogle (25), a resident of Vashi, New Mumbai, for illegal possession of 224 grams of suspected hydroponic weed (ganja).
The seized contraband is valued at approximately ₹7,84,000. Police also recovered ₹8,000 in cash and an Aprilia scooter bearing registration number GA-03-AK-8783 from his possession.
The accused was arrested on the same day and produced before the JMFC Court, which remanded him to eight days of police custody.
The investigation is being carried out by PSI Saheen Shetye under the supervision of PI ANC Sagun Sawant and SP Nerlon, with overall supervision of SP ANC Sunita Sawant.
The ANC Police Station reiterated its firm commitment to take strict action against drug-related offences.
