Prayagraj: As the curtains closed on the 45-day Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on the event’s monumental success, which drew an unprecedented 66 crore devotees to the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. The event, which concluded on Wednesday, was a testament to the enduring spirit of faith and unity in India. PM Modi, who himself took a holy dip at Sangam on February 5, acknowledged the challenges in organizing such a massive gathering and offered his apologies if the arrangements fell short of expectations.
PM Modi highlighted the Maha Kumbh as a subject of study for modern management professionals, emphasizing its uniqueness in the world. “There is no comparison to such a huge event; there is no other example like this,” he noted. The Prime Minister was particularly moved by the images of devotees from all walks of life, including women, the elderly, and the disabled, who braved all odds to reach Sangam for the holy dip.
The event also saw a significant turnout of young people, which PM Modi saw as a positive sign for the future of India’s cultural heritage. He praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership in making the Maha Kumbh a success, crediting the collective efforts of the government, administration, and public for its grandeur.
