PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has refuted any association with Bhutani and its “controversial” massive housing project located in Sancoale.
“I don’t know anyone in Bhutan. “Not a single permission is granted by any of my departments,” he declared, stressing that prior government granted permissions. Who converted the property and who granted authorization for this (Bhutani) project should be investigated by the media. Everything will become clear to you and you will be aware of when the procedure began.
When questioned about whether his government will examine and revoke the permits given to Bhutani in light of the project’s opposition from the Sancoale locals, Sawant responded, “I need to follow procedure to cancel the licences if they are not obtained properly.”
The chief minister denied any involvement from the government or Bhutanis, claiming that it was a private show hosted by a media outlet.
“I didn’t want to miss the program at the last minute, so I went,” he added.
Sawant advised people to research the backgrounds and affiliations of those opposing the project as well as their past protests.
The Chief Minister further refuted claims that he disregarded the National Anthem by exiting the hall during its performance.
“When the National Anthem began to play, I got up. My priority is my country. I won’t be an idiot and walk away when it’s played. They ought to refrain from misleading the public and quit turning videos into social media sensations.
