PANAJI: AICC Goa Desk Incharge Manickrao Thakre expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc will win both Lok Sabha seats in Goa in the next general elections.
He claimed that the BJP is exposed since its “B” teams are attempting to split votes across the nation.
Thakre was addressing the media after chairing a meeting attended by state AAP chief Amit Palekar, Goa Forward Party general secretary Durgadas Kamat, Goa Congress president Amit Patkar, opposition leader Yuri Alemao, state NCP (Sharad Pawar) president Jose Philip, and state Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Jitesh Kamat.
Thakre said that INDIA bloc allies have united to safeguard the nation since the BJP seeks to eradicate democracy.
“The public is supporting us favorably, which is why the BJP is upset that it is not fielding a candidate for South Goa. We have faith that the people support the INDIA bloc in keeping Goa and the nation peaceful,” said Thakre.
He further said that Congress nominees for both of the state’s Lok Sabha seats will be chosen by the people of Goa.
The Revolutionary Goans Party, according to the Congress leader, is the BJP’s “B” team. He said, “The BJP has formed such ‘B’ teams to divide votes in most of the states.”
At the meeting it was resolved to form a coordination committee with representatives from all political parties and assign tasks connected to the next election to its members.
Leaders of the I.N.D.I.A. Bloc expressed confidence in their ability to work together to win both Lok Sabha seats in Goa.
According to Thakare, candidates for the parliamentary constituencies of North and South Goa have submitted eight applications apiece.
He stated that the BJP is having trouble selecting a candidate for the South Goa seat because they are concerned about the I.N.D.I.A. Bloc. According to him, Goa will be the country’s decisive factor.
