PANAJI: Minister Babush Monserrate today said that he is ready to work for the people of Goa under any ministry allotted to him by the Chief Minister.
“I am thankful to the party to give me an opportunity to serve in the government; I have not demanded anything to the party, whatever, party dictates I will go ahead,” said Monserrate.
He further said that he has proved it to the party, and the party has entrusted him with a portfolio in the government.
“Whatever portfolio I get, I will be happy and continue to work for the people and my constituency; a lot of pending works in the constituency will be taken up in this tenure,” he added.
Babush, Monserrate polled 6,787 votes, finishing just 716 votes ahead of Utpal (6,071 votes) and Elvis Gomes of Congress, who finished third with 3,175 votes.
Atanasio Monserrate, also known as “Babush”, is a three-term MLA from Goa. He presently represents Panaji. He was the MLA for Taleigao. He was among ten Congress leaders who joined BJP in July 2019.
