A Landmark for Women’s Cricket
ICC Chairman Jay Shah hailed the announcement as a “defining milestone” in the growth of women’s cricket.
“This four-fold increase reflects our commitment to treating women’s cricket on par with the men’s game. Our ambition is to deliver a world-class Women’s World Cup and inspire the next generation,” Shah said.
He urged fans, media, sponsors, and cricket boards worldwide to back the women’s game, adding that the sport is on a “remarkable upward trajectory.”
The Women’s World Cup 2025 is expected to be one of the most-watched women’s sporting events globally, further solidifying cricket’s push toward gender parity.
