The incidents, which began on January 30, 2024, have left residents questioning the lack of action from local authorities.
The thefts involve the revered idols of Shree Dev Mharingan, with the first two idols disappearing on January 30, 2024, followed by the theft of three more on February 24, 2025.
The Naik family, who are closely associated with the Sateri Mahadev Devasthan, have expressed their frustration over the inaction of the police.
Govind Naik and Shamsundar Naik have publicly voiced their concerns, highlighting the complaints filed with the Mopa Police Station on January 30, 2024, and subsequent appeals to higher authorities, including the Superintendent of Police (North) and the Deputy Collector.
Despite these efforts, no tangible action has been taken to address the thefts or recover the stolen idols.
