PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that government is in process of adopting a policy decision or to make changes in existing legislation to regularise irregularities.
“Govt is in process of adopting a policy decision or to make changes in the existing legislation in a bid to regularize irregularities; illegal constructions will not be regularized” said Sawant
He further said that clear directions issued to authorities to ensure henceforth no illegal constructions on government land or communidade or road side.
He further said that government was exploring possibility of brining in a law or legislation to give protection to the affected people and that there is no need to panic for the law abiding citizen.
The Department of Urban Development (Municipal Administration) has instructed all Goan municipalities to take prompt action against illegal buildings in response to a ruling from the High Court.
The High Court has underlined that in order to stop illegal building operations, regulations must be strictly followed.
Local governments have been directed to make certain that all unauthorized buildings within their authority are located and that the proper legal action is taken. The action is a part of continuous efforts to prevent building law infractions and preserve the integrity of urban planning.
The Department has emphasized how crucial it is to follow the court’s ruling and make sure municipalities take swift action to resolve the matter.
