Ponda: The Town and Country Planning Department has lodged two separate complaints against individuals for allegedly carrying out illegal land filling in Ponda village without requisite permissions from the concerned authority.
In the first case, based on a complaint by Madhav Naik, Planning Draftsman Grade II, Town Planner’s Office, Ponda, accused Shashikant Chari of Curti, Ponda, is alleged to have undertaken land filling measuring about 5.20 metres in depth, 15 metres in length and 11 metres in width. The case is being investigated by PSI Pratik Bhat Prabhu of Ponda Police Station.
In the second incident, the same complainant reported that accused Madhulinga Naguesh Wadiyar had illegally filled land in Ponda village to a depth of around 1.20 metres, length of 45 metres and width of 15 metres. This case is being probed by PSI Sushant Gaonkar of Ponda Police Station.
Authorities have reiterated that land development activities without prior permission from the Town and Country Planning Department are prohibited and attract legal action.
