VELIM: An offence has been registered against a woman for allegedly carrying out unauthorized land filling activity in Velim village without the necessary permissions from the relevant authorities.
The complaint was filed by Shailesh Naik, Planning Draftsman Grade-II with the Town and Country Planning Department, Margao. According to Naik, the incident occurred prior to April 17, 2025, when the accused—identified as Volvetta Gomes, a resident of Margao—allegedly undertook land filling work in the area, in violation of planning regulations.
The case is currently under investigation by PSI Suhas Velip of Cuncolim Police Station. Authorities are examining the extent of the encroachment and any potential environmental impact caused by the unauthorized activity.
Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
