PONDA: Ponda Police seized illegal liquor from a general store at Bethora during a raid conducted on March 24 based on specific information.
Police said they received reliable inputs that illegal sale of liquor was taking place at Jai Ganesh General Store owned by Atchut Pandurang Gaude, a resident of Bethora, Ponda. Acting on the information, a team led by PSI Prajyot Bakhale conducted a raid under the guidance of PI Mohan Gaude.
During the raid, carried out in the presence of two panch witnesses, police seized 115.89 litres of liquor of different brands allegedly meant for illegal sale. The seized stock is valued at Rs 34,869.
The raid team included HC Kedar Jalmi and police constables Amey Gosavi, Aditya Naik, Prasanna Naik, Amir Kadekar, Bhupesh Gaude, Aditya Mandrekar and Deval Kudalkar.
Police have initiated action under Section 106 of BNSS, and further necessary proceedings are being carried out.
