SALIGAO: Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology officials conducted a raid on an illegal LPG storage unit in Saligao village.
The operation resulted in the seizure of a total of 164 cylinders, including 42 sealed cylinders.
Among the seized items were 32 counterfeit commercial cylinders, one domestic counterfeit cylinder (plus one empty), 12 empty domestic cylinders, 10 empty commercial cylinders, and 66 empty 5 kg cylinders.
The raid was carried out jointly by officials of Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology, and local police personnel. Leading the Civil Supplies team were Assistant Director Deepa Fulari, Inspector Rajiv Sawant, and Sub Inspectors Sarvesh Tuekar, Vasudev Shirodkar, Vishwanath Haldonkar, and Rohit Talarnkar. Legal Metrology officials included Inspector Sidhesh V Shirgaonker and MTS Maghadev E Dhargalkar.
Authorities said the raid was part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal storage and distribution of LPG cylinders in the region, ensuring public safety and compliance with legal standards.
