VALPOI: Valpoi Police seized approximately 300 kg of illegal meat worth ₹1.10 lakh during a checkpost operation at Keri in Sattari on March 18, 2026.
According to police, the कार्रवाई was carried out at around 4:30 pm, during which a vehicle transporting the meat was intercepted.
The accused, identified as Ahamed Jamalsab Pathan (47), a resident of Ramapur in Khanapur taluka of Belagavi, Karnataka, was detained in connection with the case.
Police have also taken the vehicle into custody as part of the operation. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the seized meat.
