VALPOI: The Valpoi Police have seized around 400 kg of suspected red meat being transported illegally in a silver Innova car at Keri, Sattari, early on Saturday morning.
According to the complaint filed by Police Constable Sumesh Subhash Naik of Valpoi Police Station, at about 3:30 am, the accused — identified as Sohil Mubarak Bepari (24), a resident of Ankalgi, Belgaum, Karnataka — was caught red-handed near the Border Check Post (BCP) at Keri while transporting the meat in a vehicle bearing registration number KA-25-B-6719.
The seized consignment, weighing approximately 400 kg and valued at around ₹80,000, was being transported without valid bills or authorization from the concerned authorities.
Valpoi Police have registered the case, and further investigation is being conducted by ASI Mahadev Gawas.
