MORMUGAO: Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) has razed an allegedly illegally operating scrapyard at Shantinagar, Vasco.
Railway authorities took up demolition of two structures at Shantinagar to take up construction of new Railway over bridge that will help ease traffic jams on internal road commenting Highway to Shantinagr and new Vaddem.
Few houses in the vicinity have also been demolished.
MMC Chairperson Girish Borkar says this was the need of the hour , while Ward councillor Shraddha Mahale says it will benefit the locals who had been struggling with traffic congestion in the area
