PANAJI: The yellow alert has been extended for an additional two days by the Meteorological Centre Goa. For the next six days, from May 25 to 30, both North and South Goa are expected to see light to moderate rain, along with lightning and thunder. It’s likely that Goa will see a few locations experience the light showers.
The Meteorological Centre Goa has issued a thunderstorm warning for the North and South Goa districts, accompanied by lightning and winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph in some isolated locations. The dates of this warning are May 25–26. No weather advisory is in effect from May 27 to May 30.
The Meteorological Centre Goa has issued a weather warning for fishermen, citing gusty winds with gusts up to 55 kmph along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, the Maldives, the Comorin area, and the South West and West Central Arabian Seas.
It has been advised that from May 25 to 28, fishermen should avoid these areas.
There will be cloud to ground lightning, flooding in low-lying areas, choppy seas along the coast, and inundation of fields, the Meteorological Centre Goa has warned. The MET Center has also issued a warning regarding low visibility brought on by an intense rainstorm, tree uprooting, landslides, and the potential for harm to people and livestock in open areas.
