PANAJI: IMD today has issued Orange alert for Goa while forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall.
As per IMD, the heavy rainfall will be accompanied by winds gusting from 30-40 kmph.
As per information, rainfall has hit 76mm so far, highest in 17 days, surpassing the previous peak of 73.8mm on Aug 7. Orange alert extended till tomorrow.
“Moderate (5-15 mm/hr) to Heavy rainfall (>15 mm/hr) with strong surface winds gusting upto 30-40 kmph is very likely to continue at a MOST places over North Goa & South Goa during next 1-3 hours,” IMD
The IMD also said that clouds are present over Pernem, Bardez, Bicholim & Sattari Talukas.
All the talukas of Goa are likely to be affected as more clouds are approaching from Arabian Sea.
