PANAJI: IMD today has issued a warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning for the next 5 days.
“The Low-Pressure Area over the Arabian Sea now lies over the East-central Arabian Sea off Goa-south Maharashtra coasts & the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level It is likely to move west-northwestwards & become more marked during the next 48 hours,”
IMD said that warnings for the Maharashtra-Goa coast continue for 17th &18th and over the east-central Arabian sea for the remaining days.
“Warning for thunderstorms accompanied with lightning continues for North&South Goa for 5 days,” the IMD said
Meanwhile, the IMD Rain-thundershower activity will continue over districts after 17th November, with a lesser spatial distribution. A marginal increase is likely around 19th-20th November.
