PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed Goa under a yellow alert for April 1 and 2, warning of thundershowers, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph at isolated locations across both North and South Goa.
According to the latest forecast, areas such as Sattari and Sanguem may experience rainfall activity within the next few hours. The IMD has indicated that light showers or thunderstorms are likely to occur during the late afternoon and evening on both days.
While no official warning has been issued for April 3, parts of the state may still receive light rain or brief thundershowers later in the day.
Conditions are expected to stabilise from April 4 to April 6, with the weather turning largely dry and sunny and no alerts in place during this period.
In the next 24 hours, temperatures are likely to hover around 33°C during the day and 25°C at night. Skies over Panaji and Mormugao are expected to remain partly cloudy, with hazy conditions likely in the morning.
The IMD has not issued any heatwave warning for Goa at present.
