New Delhi: Centuries from John Campbell and Shai Hope helped West Indies fight back strongly on Day 4 of the second Test against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. However, a dramatic collapse in the second session saw India regain control.
At lunch, the visitors were cruising at 252/3 in their follow-on innings, with Campbell scoring a fluent 115 and Hope remaining unbeaten on 92. The pair looked untroubled in the morning session, capitalizing on a flat pitch that offered little assistance to the Indian spinners. Ravindra Jadeja toiled hard for his 1/75 in 25 overs, while Jasprit Bumrah remained steady but lacked bite.
The match turned sharply in the second session as West Indies lost five wickets for just 18 runs. Kuldeep Yadav led the charge with three crucial wickets, while Bumrah struck twice to dismantle the middle order.
By tea, West Indies had slumped to 314/9 in 98 overs, with a narrow lead of just 44 runs. The dramatic turnaround has set up an exciting final day, with India sensing a possible victory despite the early resistance from the Windies top order.
