New Delhi: Team India wrapped up a stellar campaign at the Asian U19 & U22 Boxing Championships 2025 with a total haul of 27 medals, capped off by Ritika’s gold in the women’s 80kg category. The tournament, held over 10 days in Bangkok, saw India’s U19 boxers finish second on the medal table, while the U22 squad secured fourth place.
The U19 contingent emerged as the standout performers, winning 14 medals — three golds, seven silvers, and four bronzes — but narrowly missed the top spot to Uzbekistan, who claimed seven golds. The U22 team contributed 13 medals, including one gold, four silvers, and eight bronzes, with Ritika as the sole gold medalist in the group after her victory over Kazakhstan’s Assel Toktassyn.
In the U22 finals, Yatri Patel (57kg), Priya (60kg), Neeraj (75kg), and Ishan Kataria (90kg) settled for silver after closely fought matches, while Bhawna, Parthavi, Pranjal, Shruti, Harsh, Ankush, Rockey, and Mayur each took bronze in their respective categories.
The U19 gold medalists included Nisha (54kg), Muskan (57kg), and Rahul (75kg). Silvers went to Vini (60kg), Nisha (65kg), Aarti (75kg), Kritika (80kg), Prachi (80kg), Mausam (65kg), and Hemant (90kg), while bronzes were claimed by Yakshika (51kg), Akansha (70kg), Shivam (55kg), and Gaurav (85kg).
This performance follows India’s dominant showing earlier this year at the Asian U15 and U17 Championships, where the teams combined for 43 medals, including 11 golds from the U15 squad, reinforcing the country’s growing presence in the boxing arena.
