New Delhi: India strongly condemned the deadly bombing at a mosque in Islamabad that claimed at least 31 lives, expressing grief over the loss while firmly dismissing allegations from Pakistan suggesting Indian involvement in the incident.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs described the attack as deeply tragic and offered condolences to the families of the victims. The government emphasised that such violence is unacceptable and that the suffering caused to innocent people deserves sincere sympathy and attention.
Responding to claims made from across the border, India categorically rejected any suggestion of a role in the blast. The ministry stated that all such accusations were completely baseless and served no constructive purpose. It added that attempts to shift blame outside were an unfortunate distraction from the real issues facing Pakistan.
New Delhi observed that Pakistan should focus on addressing the serious challenges within its own society rather than pointing fingers at others. According to the statement, the problems that lead to such incidents are rooted internally and require honest reflection and action.
The Indian government reiterated that it rejects every allegation linking it to the attack and made clear that such narratives would not alter the facts. Officials stressed that the priority should remain on combating terrorism and protecting civilians from further harm.
The bombing has once again highlighted the fragile security situation in the region. India maintained that acts of terror anywhere deserve unequivocal condemnation and that regional stability can only be achieved when countries confront extremism within their borders.
Through its response, India conveyed both sympathy for the victims and a firm stand against politically motivated accusations, underlining its consistent position against all forms of terrorism.
