New Delhi: India on Sunday firmly rejected Pakistan’s allegations linking it to the recent violence in Balochistan, describing the claims as unfounded and a diversion from Islamabad’s domestic challenges.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the accusations were “baseless” and part of Pakistan’s routine tactic to shift focus from its own governance failures. He emphasized that Pakistan would be better served by addressing the long-standing grievances of its people rather than making repeated unsubstantiated claims following violent incidents.
“Instead of parroting frivolous claims each time there is a violent incident, it would do better to focus on addressing long-standing demands of its people in the region. Its record of suppression, brutality and violation of human rights is well known,” Jaiswal said.
The statement came in response to comments from Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who alleged India’s involvement in attacks that reportedly left more than 15 security personnel and 92 militants dead. The violence was carried out by coordinated assaults from ethnic Baloch militant groups across multiple locations in the province on Saturday.
India’s position reiterates its stance of non-involvement in Pakistan’s internal conflicts, while highlighting Islamabad’s responsibility to manage its domestic security and human rights concerns.
