J&K: In a heightened security push ahead of India’s 79th Independence Day, the Indian Army has deployed a three-tiered robotic counter-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar, Kupwara district, to ensure zero infiltration from across the border.
An Army officer told ANI that the grid is designed to detect, deter, and neutralise any infiltration attempt in three layers:
Surveillance Layer – Equipped with advanced radars, thermal imaging systems, helmet and weapon-mounted sights, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), enabling real-time monitoring of the LoC.
Obstacle Layer – Incorporating a network of mines and optical systems strategically placed across the entire area of responsibility to obstruct infiltrators.
Ground Troop Layer – Soldiers on the ground conduct routine ambushes and patrols, physically dominating the terrain through observation and firepower.
On Tuesday, media personnel were given rare access to frontline operations along the LoC in Sunderbani, witnessing the Army’s technological integration and operational readiness. The display included the Smart Fence System, quadcopters, advanced surveillance tools, bulletproof and all-terrain vehicles, modern weapons, and night vision sights — all designed to boost border security.
The Army reiterated its commitment to constant evolution, innovation, and peak preparedness, ensuring that the nation’s borders remain secure as the country marks another Independence Day on August 15, 2025.
