New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s growing confidence and self-reliance, stating that a strong and self-assured nation no longer stays silent but responds firmly to every challenge. He spoke about the remarkable transformation India has undergone in the past 11 years and its determination to continue progressing despite global uncertainties.
He said that before 2014, many questioned India’s ability to address serious concerns like terrorism, women’s safety, and policy stagnation, but the country has successfully overcome these challenges. Referring to decisive actions such as surgical strikes, airstrikes, and Operation Sindoor, he said these symbolise a new India that protects its sovereignty and security with resolve. Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year, neutralised over a hundred terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Reflecting on the Covid-19 period, Modi noted that while the world doubted India’s capacity to manage the crisis, the country not only emerged stronger but also became the fastest-growing economy. Even as the global economy faced turbulence due to conflicts such as the war in Ukraine, India maintained its growth momentum with an average rate of 7.8 percent over the last three years.
He further said that India’s exports have continued to rise, with agricultural exports reaching Rs 4.8 lakh crore last year. The country’s consistent growth and stability have been acknowledged globally, with an upgrade in its credit rating after 17 years. He also highlighted that major global companies are deepening their investment in India, including a $15 billion commitment in the artificial intelligence sector.
Modi added that the recent visit of the British Prime Minister with his largest delegation reflected the growing trust of global leaders in India’s potential. He said the nation’s strong fundamentals, expanding investments, and global partnerships are making India a vital hub for innovation, trade, and opportunity.
