PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that more ministers could be inducted into the State Cabinet in the future, following the swearing-in of senior legislators Ramesh Tawadkar and Digambar Kamat.
Speaking after the ceremony, Sawant said, “I congratulate Ministers Ramesh Tawadkar and Digambar Kamat and welcome them to my cabinet. They will work for the development of the people and Goa.” He further added, “More ministers may be inducted in the future. Anything can happen at any time.”
The induction of Tawadkar, who is also the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, and former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, marks a key reshuffle in the government. Political observers view Sawant’s remarks as a clear indication that the cabinet expansion may not end here.
Welcoming the new ministers, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said, “These are happy moments for all of us. We wished both Ramesh Tawadkar and Digambar Kamat, who are our senior members and now part of the cabinet.”
Minister Subhash Shirodkar noted that their entry would give momentum to state development, while Minister Mauvin Godinho stressed that Kamat’s experience would strengthen decision-making in the cabinet. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane also welcomed the move, stating that the party High Command had made a “good decision” by inducting capable leaders.
