VASCO: Prominent industrialist and community leader Paresh Joshi passed away on Wednesday, triggering an outpouring of grief among business and social circles in Goa.
Joshi, a well-known figure from Vasco, served as president of the All Goa Petrol Dealers Association for over 30 years. He had also served as the Chairperson of the Mormugao Municipal Council and former vice president Goa kala Academy.
He was also instrumental in his role of the Murgao Education Society and was also the former President of Murgao Hindu Samaj.
He was recently chosen to lead the Damodar Saptah Utsav Committee for its landmark 125th celebration, reflecting the trust and respect he commanded in the community.
Apart from his long-standing contributions to the fuel retail sector, Joshi was widely admired for his efforts to uphold cultural traditions and support civic initiatives. His passing is seen as a significant loss to both the business and social fabric of Vasco.
His final rites will take place as per the wishes of the family.
