PONDA: Police have booked a motorist for rash and negligent driving after his car collided with a scooter at Borim, leaving one person seriously injured.
According to the complaint filed by ASI Rohidas Bhomkar of Ponda Police Station, at around 1:30 pm on Monday, accused Gokuldas Naik of Borim, who was driving an Innova, was proceeding from Gadder towards Margao in a rash and negligent manner. On reaching near the Borim bridge (Sakav), he allegedly rammed into an Activa scooter coming from Shiroda towards Ponda.
The scooter rider, Gorudas Gaonkar of Shiroda, sustained grievous injuries to his left shoulder. Police said the Innova driver fled the spot along with the vehicle without providing medical assistance to the injured or informing authorities.
Further investigation has been taken up by ASI Rohidas Bhomkar of Ponda Police Station.
