PANAJI: Goa’s innovation spirit came alive at the Kala Academy as the TEDxPanaji Innovation Hub 2025 was inaugurated ahead of the main TEDxPanaji event. The hub, featuring 20 interactive stalls, turned into a vibrant space where students, entrepreneurs, startups, and technology enthusiasts converged to experience the State’s fast-growing innovation ecosystem.
Organised in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, the Innovation Hub showcased a curated lineup of exhibits, live demonstrations, and technology-driven solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges.
Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Tourism, and Printing & Stationery, Shri Rohan Khaunte, visited the venue, interacting with innovators and entrepreneurs at their stalls. In his address, he traced Goa’s startup journey, noting, “From just one startup in 2017 to nearly 759 certified by DPIIT and SITPC today, the ecosystem is clearly thriving. When we talk about startups, we’re talking about the power of young minds to think differently, to innovate, and to solve problems. This journey has only just begun not just for Goa, but for the entire country.”
Khaunte reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing innovation and supporting young talent. He highlighted amendments to the Startup Policy that focus on engaging students at the college level, enabling them to turn projects into viable ventures. “Often students abandon their ideas because of a lack of funds. Our new policy encourages institutions to identify promising student startups early, with the government stepping in to support and incubate them through their colleges,” he said.
The Innovation Hub featured a diverse range of solutions from clean-tech innovations to drone applications reflecting Goa’s rapidly evolving startup landscape. Participating startups and innovators, including Diagopreutic Pvt. Ltd, ByHorse, Spatialcraft LLP, GatherX, En Genius, Gelo, and PilotX, were felicitated for their contributions.
Serving as a prelude to the TEDxPanaji 2025 main event, themed “It’s About Time!”, the Innovation Hub celebrated local ingenuity and bold ideas, underscoring the importance of timely action and creative problem-solving in driving progress.
